So one of my good buddies gave me a call last night. I haven't talked to him a lot in a few months bc he is a D1 assistant coach (head recruiter) at a mid major school. His team will be in the tourney this year, and are very good. I trust this dude's basketball opinion over pretty much anyone on basketball.... Anyways, he had himself a couple cold ones last night, and was talking about him recruiting Grant. He literally referred to him as "the one that got away". He said he was the most impressive kid he's ever recruited, and was devastated when Grant started blowing up, and getting major D1 offers. He told me our main threat to losing Grant was an Ivy League School (He told me Grant scored a 33 on his ACT), and got into every Ivy League School. He also said Grant was the most polite, coachable kid he had ever recruited as well. He'd go watch their practice and scout him, and when practice was over Grant would stay and practice with the Middle School team and help them (his private school was a K-12 school). I thought the board might need some positivity after yesterday's tough defeat. Looks like we have ourselves a special one in Grant.... not like we didn't already know.
