-Thought we made nice adjustments defensively after they went up 13-3. It was obvious we didn't spend much time scouting them, so holding them to ZERO second half points was great. Especially after losing JRM.
-The Dobbs TD pass to Malone was a throw he doesn't make last year. Finally had time to plant, and threw a heck of a ball. Huge play.
-Speaking of Dobbs, he wasn't as consistent as we need him, mainly due to the fact he was running for his life, but he made a lot of really nice throws too. To middle hitch to Wolf on third and long, and the sideline route to Preston Williams early are examples of throws he will need to make often for us to be successful.
-Evan Berry is still a beast returning the ball.
-Thought the secondary, although sparsely tested, played very well. Thought we should've had a pick on their first play of OT, but hard to complain when their only TD pass was against a DL.
-The biggest positive of the night though: WE LOSE THIS GAME IN YEARS PAST. Plain and simple. We wouldn't have recovered that fumble in the endzone, App State would've made the field goal, etc. In 1998 we needed a ton of luck to run the table, and last night we got bounces that we haven't had in years. We found a way to win, and that's all that matters.
1-0.
