Little in game coaching decisions against good teams have huge consequences. The last 4:30 was a masterclass in coaching malpractice. It was downright Penny-esque.
Nobody wants Rick fired. We appreciate that the program is in great shape. We play GREAT defense. We have solid players and they represent the school very well. It's a very nice program. Just have to accept the fact that unless he changes some things, you're likely going to lose to a lower seed in the tourney and flame out early. It is what it is.
Rick said he played Bailey because Bama targeted Powell on defense. Because Bailey is a defensive stopper and doesn't have a defensive lapse every other time down the court. Then, after a time out in which we're on offense, you keep Bailey in instead of Powell and draw up a play for a 23% 3 point shooter. Silver lining is it was a terrific play, so there's that.
BHH plays a terrific first half and has a defensive lapse early in the 2nd. So he sits the rest of the half.
Those things matter. Rotations matter. And our rotation has to change for us to have long term success this year.
