We found out right before we went to the field that our game was cancelled. We went ahead and practiced on Texas A&M. Our guys are disappointed, but they have done a good job managing all the COVID stuff.

Two tests this week and no positive. Going to try and keep our routine as close as possible to get ready for Auburn next week.

Will use a couple of days to go back to camp like work.

We are practicing the next two days and will make the decision tonight on what to do Saturday in terms of practicing or going home.

On players handling unknowns...

It's unique. When we came back in June it wasn't normal. We moved things back in July. So changes are not unusual for them we are adapting and worrying about the things we can control.

Evaluating your performance...

You are judges based on your record and based off our record it's not where it needs to be that's obvious.

Do you think coaches should be judged differently this year because of the pandemic...

It's kind of unusual. The circumstances are for everyone but at the same time everyone's circumstances are different. There's nothing you can draw upon going into the season. Our priority has been the safety of the student athletes. Staying Covid free and maintaining some normalcy. Our kids continue to work hard and we all need to do better in our organization to be more successful on Saturdays.

Scrimmage this week?

We went 40 plays with our younger players at the end of practice and we will continue to do that the rest of the season.

On McDonald...

He had a very unusual circumstance with he injury to his shoulder. Given we didn't know we would play we went ahead and did the surgery. He's taking advantage of the opportunities in front of him. He has size, skill and instincts. He's just catching up from all he missed.

adjusting to the schedule change....

"Talked to Jimbo on Monday and knew it was a possibility but we continued on with our preparations. We adjusted some things practice wise. We probably worked 3 periods on our opponent and 3 on ourselves."

difficult recruiting in this climate...

Difficult for the student athletes because they can't take trips and sit down with guys face to face. It's really tough for the seniors in high school. For coaches, the evaluation process is tough with no spring evaluations, summer, or fall. There are fewer games to evaluate. From a coaching staff we have worked hard to stay in constant communication and grow relationships.
