JG is the worst QB talent wise since Worley. Don’t care his recruiting ranking his inconsistent play tells you other wise. He’s a decent QB, but not the caliber QB we need. He couldn’t hold Tyler Bray or Dobbs jock strap. Don’t give me he played a decent game against Alabama. Our offense is struggling to move the ball. We can’t get in the redzone. We have literally scored almost all of our TDs since the Georgia game by huge deep passes. While that’s awesome splash play you can’t have success winning games depending on that being your only chance to score. With the one exception of the Kentucky score. What worries me is the staff says he’s the best option to win.
Personally I have liked what we have seen from Maurer in the times he’s played. Yes, he struggled at times but his leash has been much shorter than JGs. HB we got to see one drive, but he made some good plays and he is still an unknown and I’d like to see more. Those two guys are listed 3rd and 4th on the depth chart to start the season. How embarrassing is it as a staff that it’s possible the guys you thought were third and fourth best could actually be number one and two? Don’t give me not performing in practice junk. JG has shown you more times that he isn’t the guy than he is the guy. I mean even though we ripped off like 7 wins to end the season last year we almost had to pull JG in every game because of how stagnant the offense is with him.
There is some bad QB evaluation going on if you don’t even realize who your best QBs are and basically flip flop them. That worries me.
