numbers. Everyone looks at the history of Tennessee and touts his outstanding numbers. They did average alot of points in certain games. This is the worst defensive play I have witnessed in the SEC (especially the east) in the 30 years since I started watching Tennessee. Plus, the game has changed with the addition of pass happy spread offenses compared to the three yard and a cloud of dust play action offenses of the past. Do you think running a spread hurry up and weaker defensive units could have inflated overall results. What I didn't like is when the Vols needed a couple first downs or flat needed to score against good defenses, we couldn't do it in most cases. I understand it could have been execution, inexperience or underdevelopment(young) players. But I don't think anyone can argue this offense has not been a well oiled machine some are making it out to be, by throwing out total points and yards rushing last year is a snap shot of the movie.
