DB and RR tried their best as far as I know, and it just didn't work out. Happens some times. Best of luck to them both.
As far as RR goes he has plenty of time to begin a new career some place else, and his leaving now frees up an "extra" scholarship for us to award in a recruiting year when a lot of OL like us. Win/win.
Blair, on the other hand, I wish would have just stayed for his last year. A) his leaving is not freeing up a scholarship we can use to recruit an extra class of 2017 guy. And B) assuming that we remain pretty healthy with our two tackle starters (and the third guy as the swing man) Blair could have been our 4th tackle to complete a full second string line for the blowouts. He isn't great but he can play a meaningless 4th quarter...And having that in place would have meant that all three of the true freshman OL we just brought in could redshirt this year. Specifically Ryan Johnson who is probably the most likely to be the first man up of the group. With Hall and Richmond being so young, it would have been nice to get some extra separation between those two and the guys who came in right behind them.
On the other hand, Kendrick is a Sr and maybe the coaches want more than two OT's on Team 121 to have some game experience going into the next season, so maybe the plan all along has been for the best one of our three true freshmen to play some at OT in 2016 regardless.
Either way, Blair might as well have stayed as far as Team 120 goes. Can always use the extra body... but obviously he has more to concern himself with than only Team 120...
