Remember what we used to mean when we said a basketball recruit was "raw" but had "potential"?

Near the end of the DeVoe years through the start of the Kevin O'Neill era, "raw" meant the player couldn't dribble, shot airballs from 5 feet, couldn't catch a lob pass, got one rebound a season, etc. while "potential" meant he was tall and maybe had a decent vertical. I'm in my 50's, and my brain doesn't adapt as well as it used to, so when I read the War Room about Rueben Chinyelu, I had to remind myself that this wasn't necessarily the case anymore. Then I went to YouTube and watched these highlights and was pleasantly surprised. Guy definitely has a well-developed presence in the paint blocking shots and fighting for rebounds. Can't be sure how he's going to perform in the offense yet, but even if he starts off like Pons did and just passes the ball as soon as he gets it, he still might be worth putting in the game for his defense and rebounding.
