Sorry, really slammed all week with work so this is pretty general.

South Carolina cannot beat Tennessee. Only the Vols can do that. If we continue to play down to our opponents and get behind early with double digit deficits, then we could lose. If we throw dumb interceptions and keep losing fumbles, then we can lose. If we are not ready to play from the git-go and allow them to hang around, we could lose. This is our game to win or lose.

I don’t think we lose. If we do what we are capable of the game should be over at half. If that happens look for the stands to start emptying out-a long held chicken tradition. The State newspaper estimated a 4th quarter crowd of 40,000, and UMass could have pulled it out, and almost did.

Rob sort of called out Brent on Roundtable when he said the SC defense only looked good when compared to the offense. Round 1 to Rob. We should be able to run between the tackles and wide too. The cocks are getting a good pass rush from DE Darius English but he is not much against the run. TJ Holloman and Chris Lammons will make some plays but consistency is not a trait of this defense.

SC is incredibly young, lacking in playmakers, have little or no depth anywhere, and are generally not talented. Often we are going to see a backfield with two real freshman.

On defense , here are some telling facts about SC freshman playing; DT Koby Smith (6 games, ; DE D.J. Wonnum, played in all games; LB T.J. Brunson (all games); DE Keir Thomas (all games).

I might add that much has been made of their red zone defense but if you look at the film much of that success came from fumbles and interceptions. Some was good defense but a lot was bad mistakes by the opposition.

Special teams They are having a heck of a time finding anyone who can catch the ball and have tried 6-7 guys back there. Hayden Hurst was so afraid of fumbling he refused to field it and was benched from that assignment. Their punting is OK. If they have an advantage over us it is Elliott Frye for long field goals, and even he has some misses this year.

For some odd, well not so odd for SC, reason that UMass victory has charged up the fan base and the players too. Plenty of prediction in Columbia that they win. Muschamp has to have this win to salvage a horrible season. Beating WCU is not going to do it, and neither is beating Missouri, loser to MTSU. Beating Clemson is not going to happen. That is why I think this is the biggest game of the year for SC. They have nothing to sell unless there is some hope, like we had a few years back.

This one should not be close, but who knows which team we will be. My guess is we win big.
