- SEC teams play only in-conference games during the regular season.
- The regular season would be the 8 matchups that are currently scheduled (could change the dates which they play though)
- Seed a tournament at the end of the season just like we do in basketball. 4 teams get double byes, 6 teams get single byes, the lower 4 teams play each other the first week.
- Weekly play for 5 weeks until a champion is crown.
In this scenario, each team would play at least 9 games with a maximum of 13 (assuming one of the 4 lowest seeded teams would make it to the championship, which is highly unlikely).
Here's a snapshot of what this past year's basketball tournament bracket looked like so you can see how it would work for football.
