I don’t follow baseball that much but all of this discussion around renovations got me thinking about what is the right size for a renovated LNS.

Was looking for average attendance for 2019 (the last pre-COVID season) and while I didn’t find Tennessee’s average the top 25 in average attendance had NC State at 2596. So we can surmise that Tennessee averaged no more than 2597.

I say all of this to ask if we’re getting ahead of ourselves in adding too much capacity to LNS. Obviously a better facility and better experience would likely increase attendance to some degree but are we going to build a ballpark that seats double or more our average attendance?

I think we should DEFINITELY upgrade player amenities that make LNS a desirable place to play and easier to recruit to and we should improve the facility for fans, maybe add some luxury boxes or more porches, but the stats indicate that except for weekends like a Super Regional capacity isn’t an issue. Maybe that changes if we become a perennial CWS participant.

Im just curious what is the right size for LNS and what is the appropriate investment in renovating it.
