Alabama's last title was in 1992 until it broke through under Nick Saban. Why? Because they had crappy coaches who didn't know how to recruit and develop a championship team.
We've just suffered through the single worst stretch in the history of our program, and we've had crappy coach after crappy coach. But even in the worst of times and under the worst coaches we've still been able to bring in very solid to very good recruiting classes. Imagine what those classes would have been had we actually had decent coaching?
