The truth is other SEC schools, namely Al-A&M, & AU to name a few, are all-in on winning from the Gov. to the assoc. professor and all the local media, especially $ wise.
Our administrative record of hiring HC's has been terrible..After PF, DeVoe,Pat,etc.
Why in the world would any logical fan believe we would hire someone superior to Butch.
It's a function of recruiting,fan scrutiny,adm. obstruction,hiring better asst. coaches, getting PR
around the south going more positive...tall order....note, I'm not in the mood to wait another 6-10 yrs. to be really competitive.
It's the same reason the NFL is set up for failing teams to greatly improve, with higher draft picks and softer scheduling after finishing down.
But reality is poor mgmt. at the top, always keeps Jax,Titans,Oak,Cleve,Bears,etc. from rising from the ashes...."lead the horse to water, cannot make him drink".
Maybe if you are quite young and don't study UT fb history you still believe that the "next guy" will rival Urban or NS, but reality tells us that Butch has checked a lot of the boxes that brought us from
miserable 5-7 yrs. and being the joke around the SEC.
I am proud that during that terrible stretch UT averaged over 90K a game, which tells me we have the most loyal fanbase in NCAA....let's just cool it a bit , negativity wise, & give these coaches and give them a chance to succeed.
