So I got hit in my parking garage by a neighbor. She was nice enough to leaver her info with the property manager. She get's a 5* Yelp! review from me for being honest.

Nothing terrible but a scrape and small dent to my fender (I'm sure her's was worse as fiberglass body of Honda Pilot met cold hard steel truck bumper), but it's worth getting taken care of b/c I don't want my truck dented up.

So I call State Farm (her Ins. Co) and file a claim. They call her and confirm she was at fault. They then inform me I have two options:

1) Send in photos and they send me a check. That's that. If a body shop discovers and "hidden damage that wasn't seen in the photo" then they will pay for that, but otherwise their estimate stands.

2) Take it to a shop in their network and they pay the shop directly.

I told them that I was taking it to Ford and that they could pay that estimate... they refused and said "that's not how we pay."

Couple questions... did I just get an uninformed agent on the line or is this an actual way they handle their business? These goat ******* aren't allowed to tell me where to go are they? I can always subrogate it, but that seems a little extreme considering it's just a fender bender.
