Tennessee is no doubt on a hot streak, but it’s only the beginning. The ability for players to get paid for their likeness will change College Football, and Tennessee will be one of (if no the largest) beneficiary of that model.

Tennessee has a large, passionate and spread out fanbase. As an example, in 2019, a study was released looking at the most active/passionate Fanbases. Of all CFB teams, tickets were sold to Fanbases in the most counties nationwide for:

Notre Dame, Alabama, Tennessee, Michigan and Ohio State - in that order.

Despite TN having its worst decade in school history, their fanbase still spends in the Top 5 amongst all CFB Fanbases for team gear.

Simply put, Vol fans are spread out and will spend the money - companies know this, and will happily pay to have top Vols representing their products and services.

Who is going to fall back? Potentially Clemson. Much smaller fanbase and they share their state with South Carolina.

I believe this is something coaches are telling kids, and they recognize the tremendous upside in playing for at Tennessee.
