Good article on The Athletic about UT's recruiting class and where it could lead. Also talks about Pruitt downplaying the OC hire. Some thought-provoking things from the article:

I subscribe to the school of thought that Pruitt’s OC hire will ultimately decide his fate at Tennessee.

If Pruitt’s eventual hire doesn’t work out and three years from now he’s still trying to crack the SEC’s top 10 in scoring and coaching for his job instead of an SEC East title, that “overrated” quote is going to find new life and haunt him.

[...]

It’s very unlikely the Vols will introduce the new OC at a press conference and fans might not hear from Pruitt again in person at the microphone until signing day in February.

The undercurrent of his no comment is a request for the fan base to trust him. Plenty will (unless they dislike the man who is ultimately hired), but Pruitt’s aloof public attitude toward a search that’s left his supporters frustrated, anxious and confused is a curious decision in the moment. Tennessee fans have been given far more reasons to not trust university leadership over the last decade than reasons to place blind faith in the people steering the Big Orange Ship.

I hope he works out ... but he'll have to produce on the field and the last two games don't give me a lot of confidence we're headed in the right direction.
