was last night the best thing that could have happened to Team 120 knowing what we know about them? I have to think so. I believe they had their worst possible game. I do. At every phase of the game, at every level, there were so many mistakes, yet here we stand 1-0.
Arguably good things that happened:
-Dobbs completes a 67 yard pass, not in stride but not terribly under thrown. I mean, really, who saw that coming? That 3rd and 9 dart was also nice. Yes, he made two TURRIBLE decisions passing, one TURRIBLE decision running but the passing game showed fleeting signs of good timing between him a P. Williams among others. And I bet he doesn't try to be Cam Newton again. You're Josh Dobbs, bro, just Dobbs.
-Our veteran, "proven" OL got gut-checked, which should reset them back to 2015 mentality where they were hungry to prove themselves.
-Our star studded DL was shown that stars mean $***, yet they bowed up when they needed to.
-Aaron Medley was the most consistent I've seen him, ever. So go ahead, Aaron Medley!
-Our defense closed out a game when it was on the line, like three times even though the Offense went full-retard (see Tropic Thunder reference).
So, being the glass-somewhat-half full guy that I am, and nonetheless the terrible product that we had to endure (me whilst in my brand-spanking new season ticket holder seats thinking, "not like this"), at the end of the day, every mistake that you would ever expect a good Team 120 team to make just happened in one game and they still somehow won.
It has to have been a decade since a Tennessee team won a game after doing so much to lose the game.
We know two things: 1) They can only get better or else they just suck, and 2) ain't nobody on that team should be distracted by hype, what could possibly be in Atlanta or Tampa, or who is going to win the SEC East. There's never been a better game to teach you anybody can beat you so you have to take "One Game at a Time" than the one last night. Which I what I believe and pray this team woke up thinking today.
