Find it very interesting that Nick Chubb's father took the route of going on record in the AJC last night to directly contradict everything Kirby Smart has been saying all week in regards to both his son's injury, and even more importantly about his son's availability for the game today.
KS is fanatical, even more so than Butch, about controlling the media. He is very much like Saban in that regard, and to have a parent break ranks and give their own injury update on a player (on record with the largest media outlet in the state) the day before a game is highly unusual. Especially when the update includes information not only about this week, but also next....
Chubb was never playing this week (according to his father) nor is he likely to next week. The ankle sprain was reasonably serious. Almost to the hour that Smart was giving his most recent "game time decision" update, the father was somewhere else saying "no chance, out"
Not ground breaking news for us (it was likely he was out anyway)
But I don't think Daddy is too interested in seeing son play on this particular offense too much more this season. They have their post injury game tape to show the NFL, plus UGA has a bad OL this year. Now that he has done this on his own thing I bet Smart obliges him....
