Anyone care to predict where he ends up in Rivals' final rankings into NSD? We have #1 overall ESPN, #3 overall on 247, #6 overall on Scout...and not in the Rivals 250...it's hilarious, and I know we've discussed often, but to listen to this ESPN top 300 preview a few days ago (http://espn.go.com/college-football...18/inside-class-2017-espn-300-player-rankings) raving about Smith as the next Tunsil...and then look at Rivals...can't help but feel bad for these Rivals eval guys who clearly trying to take a stand. Shame he won't end up a 5star on Rivals rankings and we'll be hoping for top 100 just to improve his composite rank...
from ESPN:
For a comparison, we think he is a player in the mold of 2013 No. 1 overall OTLaremy Tunsil: Smith possesses all the tools of a premier left tackle. He is not among the most physically intimidating tackle prospects at this stage, and he needs to add size, but he has ideal height and length with some deceptive size and strength, along with plenty of physical upside. Smith's key trait is his ability to protect the edge in pass protection; he possesses very good lower-body flexibility and balance and is light on his feet.
Smith is an underrated run-blocker who moves well with good range. He also has a nasty demeanor as a blocker and can be a strong finisher. In short, with continued progression, Smith could start from Day 1.
