Pleads with me not to make fun of Bama's loss on a group text message with her boyfriend, my good friend. This was ironic because I actually had been too caught up in the elation of watching them lose to actually text him anything. But she continues to plead with me nonetheless, mistakenly believing I'm the source of his consternation.

Says boyfriend had lost two non-Bama friends in preceding years following Bama defeats; says she desperately wants him to have friends from college and that if we keep getting him worked up, he'll blow up on us/do something stupid to ruin our friendship; says he already is worried he went too far when he text a girl in the group, "F*** you, why don't you find something to ride"; I told her he hadn't (he probably did); says he might have cried a little but she's not sure; they would have been silent tears and he hid them from her.

--By this point, we'd been on the phone for 7-9 mins (6-8 mins too long). I'm actively trying to get off the phone.

She continues, describing how their night is ruined; how she's stuck in Tampa alone with him; how he is drunk, depressed, and belligerent; how he has no friends; how he just can't take losing. At this point, I'm trying to figure out just exactly why she called me; me and her are not close at all; and I don't need this drama in my life; I'm getting married soon. Turns out she just needed a friend. Good on her. Nonetheless, she continues and that goes on for ten or so minutes until finally I get her off the phone.

I sigh, smile, go to my text messages and type in his name. Giving no fuqs, I text him, "Roll Motha F***** Tide." I can still hear his sobs and taste his tears. What a great night, what a great night
