'It happened so fast': Soldier from Elizabethtown delivers wife's baby on side of road
A U.S. Army Major from Elizabethtown had no time to think when his wife went into labor on I-65.

First off, God is good. Long story short, we took my wife to the hospital earlier today after she was having some serious contractions. The baby ward was slammed and they didn’t have the capacity to keep her there because she was only 3cm dilated. They said if she started feeling excruciating pain or her water broke she needed to come back in. About an 1.5 hours later both happened. We rushed to the hospital but only made it half way when my wife said the baby was coming out. I called 911 and pulled over on exit 112 on I-65 N and delivered the baby before first responders could arrive.
This is our third child and last but what a moment I’ll never forget. I was the first person to touch him out of the womb. My wife and the baby are doing well. Ironically, we’re at the same hospital that sent us away earlier today.
