not for nothing, but I'm on the train into NYC, and yesterday morning (especially) and even this morning I've heard more than a few of the high school kids on the train talking about the UT vs FL and UGA game, and the Hail Mary. One kid even said "that's two weeks in a row JJ has made a huge play! That guy is going to play on Sunday!" A kid who's probably from Greenwich CT is talking up some Vols! I had to laugh..
I also have a friend who is a local govt representative over in Bergen Co, NJ (Guarantano went to Bergen Catholic) he told me that the place is doing a lot of talking about the Vols as well....which hasn't happened a lot since E. Lane (props). Don't kid yourself...there are a lot of kids in this area who play D1.
My point is, if the regular kids are doing your talking for you, on a national basis...then the recruits have to be talking/thinking too....and recruiting momentum has to be huge. We have been and will be a prime time CBS national coverage game, what,...five weeks in a row?! That is sick. Hell, there are teams who are ranked higher that haven't even seen one game yet, much less five in a row.
Strike while the iron is hot. For the first time in a long, long time our team is earning respect. Here's to us going into College Station, and finally putting together four serious quarters of solid football...and hopefully blowing their doors off.
GBO!
