A few parents were discussing one of the refs prior beef with one of our town coaches before the game. Didnt think anything about it.

A few of the dads and I were watching the game and chatting.
After the first few times I saw him "walk back" the spot from where he picked up the ball from the 'tackle pile'... I started wondering. (You know, just walking over to the kid who was tackled, asking for the ball, and instead of spotting it there.... walking 2 yards the other way!!!!)
Then we watched him literally spot the ball in the wrong spot for our team - short of the place where it was down -- several more times.
After that -- say the fifth or sixth time seeing him take away two, three yards - a few of the dads and I had enough and started going ape-sh**.
He tried doing it again a few more times, but given our screams -- I think the other refs came up and corrected him a few times.

The other team got the ball on a stop at the goal line, and they made it out to the one yard line -- we saw the kid stretch and reach for the one yard line....
and the guy spotted the ball in between the 2yd and 3yd line. I saw one of the other refs approach him -- and he was adamant that was the spot (sort of saying "its right!")
It was nuts. Sort of like watching Bama play.

I passed the guy on the way out of the stadium and stood in his way, just staring at him... he looked up then looked down all the way out.

Ive seen some crazy stuff, but never ever in 6th grade tackle football.

Why in the world would you do that as a grown man?
What in the hell is wrong with people?

(Full disclosure: I mightve been a little teed up given the news I got from a TAMU alum/booster last night on Nolen... which for some reason I couldnt ignore - and now I know why)
