I've asked this before, but have not gotten an answer. Are opt out players able to use the facility to lift and condition? Eat at the training table? Access trainers and medical staff? Attend games?
What is expected of them? Make their grades? Do they affect the team's APR? Should the be studying film? Stay in shape with the idea that eventually they'll return to play?
I'm not badmouthing anyone who opts out, but I am having a hard time understanding how a kid comes to school on a football scholarship and has no responsibilities to the football team. Will this set a precedent where kids can opt out for any health related reason and expect to just stick around and get the benefits of being a football player without having to actually play football?
