I glanced over tonight at the Rivals top 100 recruits ranking. As I scanned the list of the top 20 players I recognized "Johnson, Higgins, Wade, Akers". In each case the Vols were either a finalist or once committed. But I also saw Trey Smith and Ty Chandler ranked 49 and 80,
two yong men I have seen distinguish themselves as both gentlemen and athletes - and I am delighted.
I would rather think of this class as whether any individual can make us better than the year before - how many of them are their? I think Smith is a transformative offensive lineman. I cannot really recall a more versatile of athele as an OL. He will finish the year starting at some position and become a rising star (IMHO).
And if Chandler gives us a 2nd 3 down back like Kelly but one with breakaway speed from anywhere on the feild.
Sorry to go on but let me put it like this. I am going to see this class for now getting ready to beat our schedule - and I don't want to wait until we out recruit Alabama to actually beat them
on the feild.
