The thread on the disparity of the recruiting rankings really hit home with me. I am not nearly as down on our talent level as some posters on here. In fact I think we will be a noticeably better team this year because of all the in lures we had last year, we will have a much better OL, we will be a lot stronger and better conditioned, and we won't have nearly as many turn overs.
All that being said we have issues that must be addressed. IMO our current talent level is high enough that we are still knocking on the door or at least still tapping. But if we don't significantly ratchet up our recruiting level immediately we are going NOWHERE. Muschamp isn't anybody's answer but as long as he is at Carolina recruiting will be more difficult for us. Smart might not turn out to be the answer for GA but his recruiting is exceptional. The donkey and the rest of the east is really only marginal recruiting wise. We should be dominating the east along with GA. Until FLA gets rid of the donkey they aren't an issue.
JMO but there is no reason in today's environment that 4 teams shouldn't be top dogs in the SEC with Bama being the badest. LSU, GA, and Tennessee should be in position to battle and beat them some. The table is set well for us in the east if Butch and the new staff additions will only execute on the recruiting trail.
