Question- Offense

In the olden days (Volquest Generals Quarters)(aka ThunderDome) I’d be ripped to shreds for even asking this…….

Does anyone ever remember any 2 back sets from Heupel?
I don’t.

But I’ve been thinking about it this week.

Since lack of trust has finally been talked about during the post game show (Troy Fleming) (he tip toed a bit but sees exactly what we see and just called it for what it is); anyway I’ve been wondering if Heupel has ever used 2 back sets?
With our lack of WR/Passing production we sure could use another way to move the ball through the air.
Sampson seems to have good hands out of the backfield and it’d be new wrinkle.

I know we can’t just “draw up plays in the dirt”; but a package can be put together.

I can’t see wining 2/3 of
Bama
UK
GA
with our current pass game.

Defense played lights out but to be honest A&Ms qb was awful (total noodle arm)(like a bad HS qb)

Anyway- perhaps Milton will step it up? Or Nico rides to the rescue?

But we simply have to get more consistency in the pass game.
We’re about to be facing 8 in the box bc we can’t connect deep and can’t use middle of the field.

2024 DB Recruiting Update

Jayden Lewis has decommitted from Auburn. He was at Tennessee for the Texas A&M game, but at the present moment, I don't see Tennessee going that route.

However, Tennessee has been looking at adding an additional corner, and two names to know are Cai Bates and Jaren Sensabaugh. Bates is committed to LSU, but the Vols have remained in contact and are hoping to bring him in for the Georgia game. Sensabaugh is a Vanderbilt commit and is in-state, but is looking to take visits, including being in town for the A&M game as well for an "awesome" visit.. Bates is the priority and Sensabaugh still has not received an offer yet, but those are the two names coming up the most for that spot.
