13 penalties equaled 137 negative yards. 3 turnovers equals 3 of our offensive possessions taken away. Going back over those facts it is amazing we still scored 34 points and lost by a TD.
I am pissed about losing but clean up penalties and turnovers and our offense could be fun to watch. We are already scoring more points than last year. Pitt from what we have been hearing has a good defense and veteran line. We definitely did not click on all cylinders and still scored 34 points on them. Everyone complaining about missed passes but the penalties and turnovers cost us the game. Both those things you can fix and control.
Now Heupel has to start winning some of these toss up games. If he is a great coach he should win more than lose of the toss ups. I’m not sold on Heupel yet and it’s not been pretty but we have still been scoring points. This was an ugly game and I believe the penalties and turnovers can be fixed sooner rather than later. If he is a good coach we should keep getting better. However, if we can’t compete with Missouri in a few weeks, this season definitely will look like it will be a dumpster fire and I’m going to really think Heupel maybe not the man. Have to show some promise that you’re an elite coach.
