J’Michael Dossett, a friend and little brother to me, the nephew of my best friend from High school, was murdered on Halloween night in East Knoxville. J’Michael was 26.
He didn’t live in Knoxville but was up there seeing his daughter for her 4th birthday. I was close to J’Michael bc of my friendship with his uncle and dad.
The murderer turned himself in today, and he’s just a 16 year old kid. What is going on in Knoxville that all these kids are involved in this kind of violence so often??!
Murders are happening in Chattanooga where I live, but it’s usually always young adults and rarely high school kids. I’ve read of all the killings related to Austin East students. This seems like a really bad problem that needs a major solution.

16-year-old male charged in East Knoxville Halloween shooting
Police said they are still investigating the incident and no suspects are in custody at this time.
