Marcus Jackson won't practice and is not expected to practice any time soon with an upper body/arm injury. As we reported both Friday and Saturday, the Vols have been experimenting with their OL to find the best five.
Friday was when the group was full-strength and they were looking at Jashon Robertson at center. With Jackson injured in that pratice and expected to miss significant time per conversations both Brent and I have had, Robertson slides to left guard while Jack Jones gets the right side opportunity. Mack Crowder is center and the tackles of late have been Kyler Kerbyson, left, and Coleman Thomas, right.
Couple rookies, Chance Hall and Drew Richmond, are making a move at the backup tackle spots on the left and right sides, respectively.
Brett Kendrick hasn't been quite feel speed and has gotten work back at his more natural guard position as well.
Also, expect Justin Martin to be a bit limited after he was rolled up in Saturday's scrimmage work. All indications are Martin is just fine, but UT's medical staff is putting him through some precautionary tests to make sure. Some of you have referenced the photo from Saturday's Vols' practice where Martin got rolled up under a pile and so UT just wants to be understandably cautious with Martin.
Lastly, look for A.J. Branisel to transfer down to a lower-division school after choosing to leave the program over the weekend.
