My mother is 86 years old. On February 20, she lost her soul mate, my father, after 67 years of marriage. They had dated for 5 years (including 2 years while he was in the military in Europe just after World War II) so 72 years of her life was with him.
Before, it had never occurred to me that anything could shake her. She has always been a rock, the family anchor and optimist, the one who took care of everyone. But now, she struggles with her loss and the differences in everything, every day. I would appreciate a prayer for her. She is special woman, a fabulous Mother, and was a devoted wife.
Many of you likely have similar situations. Hopefully, for those of us who still have our Mothers with us, we can all take a bit of time today, this week, this month to let Mothers know just how special they are, and how much they are loved.
