We can confirm that Mike Canales is in town today for his second interview. When Brent spoke with him last night, he was getting off a plane, but wouldn't confirm that he was in Knoxville and said he was out recruiting. We believe this is a two horse race between Canales and Kevin O'Connell. The fear with O'Connell has been the potential for Josh McDaniels to land an NFL gig possibly in San Francisco. That won't be the case now which means O'Connell becomes for a real possibility. I'd still think Canales is the safe play here, but I wouldn't shut the door on O'Connell if he is serious about the college game.
Butch Jones is off to New Jersey with Robert Gillespie for an in-home visit with John Lovett. Zach Azzanni and Larry Scott will be headed to Florida to recruit tomorrow.
