I always error on the side of optemism for the record. Our defense was extremely vanilla this week with our DBs suffering from a lack of pressure on the QB. We got burned a lot on deep routes however there is no way in hell a QB can be any more perfect with ball placement than he was. We weren't always in bad position, it was perfect ball placement that hurt us which can't be defended usually. Also that offense was predicated on getting the ball out fast. On top of all of this we didn't have our secondary coach there to help which won't be the case going forward. Teams make the most improvement from week 1 to 2 also. I know this was not a very flowing post but you get the picture. There are many reasons this week ended the way it did and almost all of those can be fixed. We will have a very good defense this year as we all expected so let's not panic and let's look forward to playing the biggest home game in years this week, this defense will be extremely motivated to correct their issues from this week and even more motivated to play in front of 102,000 screaming people. I honestly believe that not having a regular home crowd affected this defense. It was NOT loud and the crowd had zero effect on their communication which will not be the case this week. Ears will be ringing! GBO
