Are there NO Bowl games on January 1st?!?!

Am I reading it wrong? I was looking at the Bowl schedule and it says there are no games on January 1st but on January 2nd.

I mean, what the HECK?! Part of New Years Day is watching Bowl games!! Is the NFL that important that they won't schedule games on the same day?
