Matty sailing along and then gave up a leadoff single and just like last night in the bottom of the 7th allows a homer. Vols took the lead earlier but the batter was called out (correctly) for being out of the box.
The enforcement of staying in the box is taking away a lot from the slapper hitters, being called a lot. I never like that style anyway, probably because I don't understand it. One thing I don't like is they often do not get it out of the infield and that leads to a fielder's choice out.
Since the Hawaii trip, we have not been the same. I think all that long traveling and playing up to 6 games in 3 days is taking atoll. add in that we only have two pitchers.
Our batting is also falling off in SEC play and we are leaving way too many on base, in scoring position.
Hope we can get this ship back on course but it is looking pretty rough right now. Blew the series to USC,jr and got swept and then lost the series against UGA, at home. We need to also be more aggressive on the bases and at bat.
