Has there been any discussion about this rule? It was my understanding, that in the event of a fumble and the offense recovers, you cannot advance the ball in positive direction. For example, in field of play, had that been for the first down, the review would have showed Dobbs short of line to gain and they would have moved ball back to fumbled spot which would have been short.
Is the rule different for when in the end zone? Dobbs never broke the goal line from best I could tell on stadium review (which are never great) so how did TD stand vs ball being placed back on the 1 and 4th and goal? (I'm glad it wasn't of course but only asking for rule clarification)
