Last night the overwhelming tone in the chat was that the fall FB season had become considerably more problematic which of course it has with the increased # of cases. We have to be getting within 4-6 weeks of a drop dead date to start on time and nobody knows what things will look like then.

But here’s what I think we know. Please discuss your thoughts on each.

1) The chaos and carnage to not having college FB would be both broad and deep. It would affect the viability of not only FB but some entire sports programs and even the viability of some academic institutions.

2) Without fall college FB under the best scenario college athletics change DRAMATICALLY many other aspects of college as we know it as well.

3) The loss of revenue much which goes directly to the bottom line would be staggering and catastrophic.

4) Having a hold over year and dealing with 2021 recruits would have to throw the 85 scholarship # completely out the window.

5) The economic, practical, and cultural pressure to have college FB will be exceedingly high.

6) Everyone is concerned about the health of college athletes and college students in general. Nothing is without risk but the risk of college students experiencing anything serious from the virus is about as close to zero as you can get.

Thanks
