We currently have open positions for University Chancellor, Vice-Chancellor and Director of Athletics, Vice-Chancellor of Communications and University Provost.
That is a rather large amount of high level positions to be open at once.
What are your general thoughts on the current situation on campus? Should we be alarmed at all the turnover or is this just an opportunity the Board sees to make us better or what?
Also, do you believe the President/BoT will hire a Chancellor before hiring an AD? Would that not be the logical thing to do since the AD reports directly to the Chancellor? Seems as if the new Chancellor should have some say in who the new AD will be. If an AD is already in place, how might that affect the candidate pool for Chancellor? I can tell you as an executive team member and department head in my company, when I took the job, my assistant was forced on me by my boss and it was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. I would've fired him after one month on the job if it weren't for the fact that my boss would've blocked it from happening. Created a lot of turmoil and discourse within my department and for me personally when it could've all been avoided had I been afforded the opportunity to install my staff as I saw fit.
