College Football Belt - Who has heard of this?

I'm a little shocked this is the first time I've seen this.

Looks like it started in the 70s.

Anyways I bring it up because A&M currently has it.

The way it seems. You have the belt till you get beat then that team owns it. End of the season who ever has it is the champ.

It's nothing special just interesting I guess.
