We finally seem to be in the top 3 in the conference in both overall talent, esp at key positions, and overall depth. We have not been in this situation in a long time. Sure, anything can happen and this team could implode, but I just don't see it happening. Just watch the interviews of our players. They're smart, well-spoken, they generally seem well-raised and much more mature and focused than I remember being at 19. Listening to interviews of Dobbs, Hurd, JRM, Barnes, Gaulden, Sutton, McKenzie, Fils-Aime Byrd Kirkland, the offensive linemen, and others, those guys all sound impressive. It's just good to see your best talents also be your high character guys and leaders. That's a recipe for success.
There are many legacies on this team who bleed orange. The starting quarterback is about as classy and smart as they come and he's pretty damn good on the field, elite DEs, potentially elite DTs, elite DBs, elite RBs, potentially elite WRs, and more depth than I can remember since maybe the late 90s.
We may not live up to some of the hype, but I think this is a team we will be very proud of at year's end.
