For those that are curious how the points may work out here is some info (If you don't care about rankings or points this thread is probably not for you).
The top 5 on our board are pointed as follows:
Brown - 213
Dickerson - 182
Byrd - 158
Warrior - 154
Kongbo - 150
If you don't follow the system closely Kongbo's points might surprise you since he is a 5 star. He is also a Juco and there are no ranking points for Juco's like the top 250 HS players.
Rivals only counts the top 20 recruits. TN is currently at 17 verbal commits. If TN goes above 20 then the lowest ranked player's points are dropped (there is one 60 point recruit, then 75, 75, etc). A couple of examples:
1) They somehow make room and all 5 of the above are added. This would add 857 points but you would subtract 135 points for the two lowest rated of the current commits. A net of 722 is added to the current total of 1740 and you get 2462. The last three years this total would be ranked:
2015 - 11th
2014 - 7th
2013 - 8th
2) We add 3 - Warrior, Byrd and Brown. This total would be 2265.
2015 - 14th
2014 - 10th
2013 - 12th
The biggest impact on the rankings is to fall short of the 20 number. It seems unlikely that we close with all 5 but CBJ has surprised many people over the last couple years. At this point however, you would probably say that something in the range of 10th to 14th is a reasonable guess.
