I know this is a homer site and Peyton is God (including to me), but saying their franchise has sucked, or is dysfunctional (other than Irsay's well-known substance abuse issues that he has had for decades), is dumb and incorrect.
Since 2012, when Peyton left for Denver, the Colts have played in the 5th Most Playoff Games, Luck & Colts went 3-1 against Peyton head-to-head including beating him in the Playoffs in Denver, and Luck has had the most 4th Quarter comebacks as a QB in the past 5 Seasons. Do I think Luck is better than Peyton? No. I'm not making that argument, just making the argument the Colts aren't a mess. The Browns are a mess. The Jags are a mess. Indy isn't.
At the time of this Post, the Colts are up 27-0 AT Minnesota and Houston & Tennessee are both losing, which might have the Colts in First Place in their division in a little more than an hour.
Peyton is phenomenal, no doubt, and you could obviously easily argue that he built that franchise up again (He did), but the Colts have been pretty good since him.
Colts First 5 Years Under Luck
2012 - 11-5 - Playoffs
2013 - 11-5 - Playoff Win
2014 - 11-5 - 2 Playoff Wins including over Denver in Denver
2015 - Luck only played 7 Games due to suffering a concussion, a lacerated kidney, and then torn abdominal muscle
2016 - will be 7-7 in an Hour.
In Today's NFL, the records above are considered Gold to anyone not named New England.
Again, I get that Peyton is great, but him and Eric Berry are not the only 2 great players that have played in the NFL the past 15 or so years, as much as that hurts people on the GQ to hear.
