“I stand by the unproven statement in that 3 have hardly played at all and other than Dexter the other guys have not been major contributors, even though appearing in some games.

Desmond Watson - In 13 games in 2021 he had a total of 2 tackles, 5 assists

Jalen Lee - Appeared in 8 games in 2021 and had 4 tackles, 5 assists - Got 1st start vs. UCF
In 2020 he appeared in 5 games with 2 tackles, a sack and forced fumble

Lamar Goods - Appeared in 2 games in 2021 and had 0 tackles, 2 assists

Griffin McDowell - https://floridagators.com/sports/football/roster/griffin-mcdowell/15215 Appeared in 13 games in 2021, but only played on special teams. In 2020 he appeared in 9 games, all only on special teams. He's never played on the defensive line in college and last played on the offensive line as a back up in 2019.

Chris Thomas - Made his 1st collegiate appearance in the 2021 Bowl game vs. UCF. No tackles, no assists

Jaelin Humphries - Appeared in 1 game in 2019 & 1 game in 2020 and didn't play in 2021.

So yes, other than Gervon Dexter the rest of these guys are unproven talents at the D1 level. If Napier can pick up an experienced defensive lineman or two via the transfer portal, I think he'll do it. These guys MAY turn out to be good enough, but with only 1 player who has proven himself able to hold his own against SEC competition, I would say it's unproven talent.

Not a lot of any UF stats yet, but they've been at UF for 2-3-4 years, and they were proven enough at their former jobs to be invited to join the team....
(otherwise, it's Doom, Despair, Gloom & Agony)”
