Speaking of watches, I took my watch to repair shop as I broke the stem on mine. Making small talk, I asked the watchmaker if he saw a lot of fake high end watches. He said that he had, but said he also had seen the reverse.
He swore that a month ago, a guy had brought in an alleged fake rolex that had been purchased in Scottsboro,AL at the unclaimed baggage place. It needed a battery, so when they started checking, it was revealed that the customer had purchased a $50k watch for $100!
He said another customer had brought in an antique watch that was purchased at an estate sale for $100. It too needed a battery and was a 20k watch.
I would like to be that lucky...
