College Football is about the Coach and his staff...the great coaches eventually get the great players if they want them...at the end of the day these players want 2 things 1. to go to the NFL (and get the MONEY) and 2. They want to win...(everyone likes to win, winners get the publicity, publicity gets them the girls, they want the girls)....
There is a reason the best coaches are always at the top...no matter which school they are at...and there is a reason that Nick Saban and staff could swap sidelines with Butch and his staff AND STILL beat Butch and his staff...Urban would be the same way...Harbough probably the same...they can "take their 11 and beat you or they can take your 11 and beat you"...
At the college level, LEARNING is the most important thing...good players can get away with being the fastest or strongest in HS..But if they are not getting the absolute best training, the best education and put in the best position to learn and perform, they will only reach about 60-70% of their ability...
This is where UT is falling short...This is where Butch better improve...This is where Butch better go out and get the very best he can...Otherwise you can go out and get all the kids with 4 stars and 5 stars talent you want..But if you give them 3 star coaching...they'll play like 2 and 3 stars and not fulfill their talent...
