I'm convinced that there is nowhere on earth where people are dumber about this virus than here

on the GQ. We still have people here who want to equate this to the swine flu and seasonal flu. It's embarrassing, and I'm not going to read it anymore. I'm going to start putting these people on ignore until this is over, and I'm also just generally not going to read threads on here about the virus anymore. I'll talk football/basketball/recruiting/hot women, but no more reading what idiots think about Covid-19.

Do I think this is apocalyptic? It had the ability to be so, but we've acted on it. Right now the numbers, even though they keep going up, are trending down as a percentage of new infections. If we can keep that going, we'll be fine, but we're going to have to keep at it for awhile. We need to get the percentage of daily new infections down below 2 percent, preferably closer to 1 percent. I believe it's going to happen, but the next couple of weeks are going to be rough, and I think the idea of returning to something approximating normal before the end of May to be overly optimistic.

People, there are going to be a lot of deaths. Unlike 99 percent of the people on this board, I don't make up my mind what to think based on liberal or conservative policy. I have zero political agenda. I'm just going by the numbers. Can we still avert most of it? Yes, obviously. But we won't know for sure until the social distancing, etc. measures have had time to really take effect.

In any event, have fun arguing over it. I'm staying out of it from now on.
