[Warning: Long]
I don't know about many of you, but at this point I don't fear losing. I don't fear the Post-Florida Depression (PFD) that has accompanied the last four losses for me. Why should we fear anything? Hell, it might as well be normal by now. No, I'm just pissed and filled with hate. Pissed at the disrespect, pissed at Tennessee for letting it get this far, and pissed that Saturday, 3:30 EDT isn't here already. Like me, I think this team is filled with a quiet rage.
I don't buy into the psychological edge this year. Not after two years of should-be wins. Not after the effort of many of our players last year to be let down by coaching not on the team anymore. So I don't buy into that, not with regard to the players, especially, and not even with regard to the coaches. I sense that they are angry and tired of the $hit talk from a Gators team that didn't deserve to win last year and from players who didn't even play.
For me, this game comes down to the opening moments on the line of scrimmage. Who's got that fight? Who's gonna be the alpha dog? Who's gonna give that a$$ beatin' or lay down for one? Who's going to set the tone?
I've got my eyes on #15, Jauan Jennings. He'll bring it all day, and when he does, watch for a spark. I've got eyes on #1; we know he will bring it. How about #66? Jack Jones knows all about this streak. And if/when #76 Chance Hall gets in, I think you'll see a year of frustration multiplied by being out 3 weeks and not getting to play. I think he'll play with an edge.
On D, #9 ole D. Barnett doesn't talk much, cus like Khalil said, we're about that action. And I think we may see some Al Wilson-esqe leadership from him. #34 JRM is not leaving the field on Defense, this game is too important to him, and he's gonna be an inspiration that makes the team play harder.
I expect controlled rage on Saturday from our D, and I think they play with Shoop's swagger. We will be about that action on Saturday, and we will bring the wood. I expect a fight, and I expect, want, and need our players to throw the first punch and not stop swinging until the Gators are broken and bleeding on the ground.
If I feel this pissed, I can only imagine what they feel...GBO
