I would be much more concerned with who Bama, Clemson, LSU etc took in 2020 and 2021 if I were a 2022 QB recruit.
I love that Pruitt is going all out to land Daniels. Mods say Tennessee and LSU seem to be final 2 if he decides to leave.
Here is the deal on QB play- if you don't have a QB you are dead in the water in terms of trying to win big. HAVE to have a QB. Get as much talent as you can get and let the cream rise.
There is no way that a 2021 recruit dictates who we go for from a talent perspective. I love Ty Simpson but this isn't a Trevor Lawerence, Peyton Manning, Justin Fields type of situation where this is a generational slam dunk QB. He could get hurt. He could not live up. Or he could just turn out to be a solid player and not an elite level guy. He could get to campus and it swallow him up. Being a QB at UT has done that to players.
Philosophy should be- get as much talent as you can and if you hit you are a playoff contender. If that is a problem for a certain kid... it isn't a problem to find someone who can play and is ready to compete.
If a recruit is scared of a QB who will be in his 4th year than he needs to go to South Carolina or Mississippi State. Elite schools have stacked QB rooms. Because Bama, Clemson, Georgia etc sign a 5 Star kid every other year.
