When I read the article from ESPN the other day I laughed to myself, if Wells is any kind of competent coach at all, then we are about to show out up front on Offense. Butch's 1st year we obviously had a great line. If I am not mistaken 3 of those guys are starting on Sundays, it doesn't get much better than that. That particular unit struggled under Mahoney mightily!! An offensive line makes or breaks an offense Year 2-4 we kinda struggled with youth, depth, injuries, etc. If this guy can coach this line is going to be like an old school Tennessee line, smash mouth, nasty, dominant. Think about this now nasty ass Jack Jones year 3 in the program, Chance Hall same, Coleman Thomas year 4, Richmond, Boulware both 3rd year guys, Kendrick 4 or 5 can't remember. Niehaus and Tatum year 2 Locklear, Smith, and Calvert hopefully red shirting. If this is the 14th best returning line in the SEC, than I am going to agree with the negs and say fire Butch, Wells, Scott, Welton, Trainers, Managers, and Ball Boys. But I believe this unit is going to be the kind of OL that can dominant most defensive front 7's in the SEC, and the identity of this offense will be smash mouth, with play action game coming off a dominant running attack. If they are 14th best I will be all in on the fire Butch train, but I believe this will be the year that Butch puts the can't win the EAST talk to bed once and for all.
