Someone in another thread said CJP is "grinding to win". I see why one might think that but I will respectfully disagree.
Coach Pruitt is not in my humble opinion, "grinding to win". Coach Pruitt is a perfectionist and he is grinding for what he sees as perfection. We shall see if it works or not. I can promise you that we will at some point see what we consider dominant performances and CJP will be pissed. Butch Jones wins against, Florida and Georgia, CJP would be livid because of the first half play. As I said, I don't know if this is going to work but as fans we need to understand who our coach is as a person. I suspect it will prevent a lot of freak outs.
I've had to learn these lessons myself as I have a perfectionist at the highest level at home. From being extremely disappointed with second at the Olympic Trials on an injured leg to our lawn maintenance guys can't cut the front yard because it needs to be done in just a certain way, it takes getting use to and coming to appreciate this type of personality.
Couple all of that with the fact that we are coming off of a guy who wanted to make you believe that every win was a championship to now a guy who may well be completely pissed on the night he actualmy does win a championship, and it is quite an adjustment. And it's an adjustment that everybody is not going to be able to make, from players to coaches to fans. So give CJP and yourself some time to adjust. You're in a whole new relationship now. You have to learn to seek and onlaccept perfection yourself and some players are going to have to go and some of us fans may not make the cut either.
